Scotland (Highland) ~ 46% ~ $110 ~
A shared passion of 12 Drams member Kaelan, Highland mainstay Old Pulteney has been on our list for many years. Though we’ve missed out on the mythical 17-year-old time and time again, this new range of NAS expressions aged in wine barrels makes it much easier, and more price friendly, to share the bold, briny backbone of this seaside malt with you. We selected the Pineau du Charentes varietal to contrast the classic flavours the distillery is known for with a honeyed sweetness. Very interested to see how far this dram strays from our impression of this maritime institution.
