Whisky #9
12 Year Old Cask Strength
Redbreast

Ireland ~ 57.2% ~ $130

There are a host of innovative expressions coming out of Ireland as whisky drinkers look outside of Scotland for unique flavours (and price relief!) But like an aging rock band on a farewell tour, sometimes you just have to play the hits. Inspired by the weekday habits of 12 Drams member Scott, this cask-strength version of quintessentially Irish Redbreast takes the characteristic sweet bready-ness derived from triple distillation in pot stills and injects a pleasant ribbon of spice. Quite unlike it’s 40% brethren, we anticipate a depth of complexity with the higher ABV.

Silky mouthfeel, with layers of stewed, spiced fruits, vanilla cream, and mellow oak.

Finish

Warm oak builds, with baking spices, sherried fruit, and robust barley.
