Ice 10 Year Old
Glen Breton
Canada ~ 43% ~ $100 ~
In 2010, JM brought a bottle of BC ice wine to France as a gift for the professor he was studying under. The professor bluntly stated that Canadian wine is awful, except for the ice wine. Good thing the Glenora Distillery on Cape Breton, Nova Scotia uses old Ortega ice wine barrels from Jost Vineyards to age their overtly Canadian Glen Breton Ice line of single malt spirits. Normally bottled at cask strength, this expression comes in at 43% leaving more of those sweet ice wine notes to savour.
