Whisky #2
Small Batch Single Malt - Release #9
Mad Laboratory

Canada ~ 42% ~ $85 ~

The CRTC requires us to include a certain amount of Canadian content in the 12 Drams, and we’re thrilled to offer up this small batch effort (release #9) from mad scientist Scott Thompson. The direct-fire pot still employed in distillation is from a by-gone era, providing unique flavours we don’t often see in large commercial operations. With 100% BC grains, a homegrown yeast culture, and only 42 months in the barrel, this whisky more akin to home brew than anything we’ve had since, well, the mystery home brew whisky of 2019.

Tasting Notes

A BC craft, small batch, single malt whisky made with 100% BC-grown malted barley. Double-distilled with a direct-fire pot still, and double wood aged, starting with ex-bourbon quarter casks and finished in an American standard ex-bourbon barrel. Non-chill filtered and no colour added, bottled from a single barrel.
