An unusual grain in a familiar barrel. Distilled from 100% Indica rice malted with black koji mold and fermented with a unique yeast, this expression from Kujira is a world away from traditional barley offerings. In contrast, a decade of contact with ex-bourbon barrels in the sweltering tropical paradise of Okinawa lends some familiar tones. However, we believe the beauty of this whisky lies in the earthy palate so visceral you can almost feel the soil in your hands.
