Whisky #8
Gold Edition - Single Barrel
Blanton's

US ~ 51.5% ~ $161 ~

Typically bourbon would be our value pick, so we decided to flip the script and choose the brand credited with inventing the “super premium” category in 1984. Blanton’s Single Barrel is widely regarded as some of the best bourbon produced in Kentucky, and therefore the world, aged in the fabled metal Warehouse H at Buffalo Trace. The Gold Edition is bottled by hand from a single cask at 103 proof allowing the corn, barley, and especially the rye to shine in this (figuratively) intoxicating expression.

Tasting Notes
By The Master of Malt

A superb single barrel bourbon. Blanton's Gold is distilled from a mashbill of corn, rye and malted barley. Each bottle is hand filled, sealed, labelled and individually numbered.

Nose

Oaky, dry. Plenty of fruit, mostly dried. Chewy peels, floral. Spicy.

Palate

Complex, enjoyable top notes, chewy oak. Dark stone fruits, deep spices, peppy and rich.

Finish

Long, toffee, drying.
